You can contact us about this policy or your data at hello@drivefunnel.io or through our contact page.
What this policy covers
This policy explains how we handle personal data when you visit drivefunnel.io, try our demo, ask for a demo or get in touch, and when we contact driveway and paving businesses about our service. It also explains our role when installers use DriveFunnel on their own websites.
Information we collect
| When | What we collect | Why, and our lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| You book a demo or contact us | Name, company, email, phone, the area you cover, and anything you tell us in the form or your message | To reply, arrange your demo and discuss our service. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries, and taking steps at your request before entering into a contract. |
| You become a customer | Contact and billing details, your branding, pricing and settings | To provide the service, take payment and keep records. Lawful basis: performance of our contract, and legal obligations such as tax and accounting records. |
| We contact driveway and paving businesses | Business contact details, such as a company name, a named contact, a work email or phone number, usually from the business's own website or public directories | To introduce our service to businesses it is relevant to. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in promoting our service to businesses. You can ask us to stop at any time, and we screen phone numbers against the UK Corporate Telephone Preference Service. |
| You use our demo | The address you search for, the driveway outline you draw, your choices and estimate, any photo you upload to the visualiser, and the name, phone and email you enter if you complete the demo or book a visit in it | To show how DriveFunnel works. Addresses are looked up with the services listed below. If you complete the demo, your details and the estimate are emailed to us, exactly as a lead would be sent to an installer, so we can see how the demo is used and reply if you're an installer. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in demonstrating and improving our service. |
| You use our website | Technical data such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, recorded by our hosting providers | To run, secure and improve the website. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in running a secure, working website. |
When installers use DriveFunnel
When a driveway installer uses DriveFunnel on its own website or funnel page, the installer decides what homeowner information is collected and how it is used. The installer is the data controller for that information and we act as its data processor, handling it only on the installer's instructions and under a written agreement. If you used a driveway calculator on an installer's website, please see that installer's privacy notice, or contact the installer directly to exercise your rights.
Who we share data with
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We use trusted service providers who process data on our behalf, including:
- Netlify: website hosting and form handling
- Google: Google Cloud hosting for our lead and visualiser service, Google Maps Platform for address search, maps, satellite and Street View images, and to find the house and outline the driveway, and Google's Gemini models to create visualiser images from uploaded photos
- Esri: satellite imagery in the demo
- OpenStreetMap services (Nominatim and Overpass), Photon by Komoot and postcodes.io: address search and building outlines in the demo
- Resend: sending lead and booking emails
- Email, phone, calendar, payment and accounting providers we use to run the business
We may also share data where the law requires it, or to protect our rights.
International transfers
Some of our providers are based in, or process data in, the United States and other countries outside the UK. Where this happens, we rely on recognised safeguards such as the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.
How long we keep data
- Enquiries, demo leads and prospects: up to 24 months after our last contact, unless you become a customer or ask us to delete it sooner
- Customer records: for the life of the contract, then up to 6 years for legal, tax and accounting purposes
- Website server logs: as kept by our hosting providers, usually a short period
Cookies and similar technology
We do not use advertising or analytics cookies on this website, and the demo does not store anything in your browser. The map and address services used by the demo receive your IP address when they send map images and search results, and may use cookies or similar technology to provide their service. If we add analytics or other non-essential cookies in future, we'll ask for your consent first.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access your personal data, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to how we use it (including objecting to direct marketing at any time), and to data portability in some cases. To use any of these rights, email hello@drivefunnel.io or use our contact page. We'll respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). We'd appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
